Bruce Barclay was formerly a Senior Partner at the one of the worlds largest and most successful Private Equity firms, Advent International (www.adventinternational.com), which has >$100billion Assets under Management and has invested in or purchased >400 companies worth in excess of $300billion, with >260 investment professionals in 15 offices around the globe. At Advent he was involved as a lead dealmaker in >$2bn of completed deals, and then led the Global Fund Raising, raising >$20bn from around the globe. This included work on several Healthcare & Life Sciences and Technology funds (early stage and growth investments).

Bruce Barclay, of New Zealand / British descent, has over 18 years experience as a Private Equity professional, over 7 years experience in Corporate Finance/ Investment banking, and 6 years working directly in industry, encompassing a large multinational in computers and software, and a leading venture capital backed tech startup in state of the art machine vision systems, sensors, robotics and artificial intelligence. 

 

After Advent Mr Barclay established a private investment group, Axon Capital Partners, for investing globally in public and private securities, alternative investments (hedge funds and Private Equity funds),  and a wide range of private equity investments from small minority positions to control positions. In recent years he has been active in frontier technologies such as Biotech, Space, Crypto / Blockchain, AI, Alternative Protein, Synthetic Biology and so on, and very active in the longevity and maximising healthspan industry (including joining the Board of the world leading Buck Institute just north of San Francisco- the largest and first longevity only focussed research institute with over 200 biomedical scientists and staff). A sub focus is the neurology / Brain Performance Optimisation, and cardiovascular space.  He has been building a portfolio of investments in the longevity field including building a global network of contacts, relationships and knowledge in the longevity / maximising healthspan industry.
